DIY Network’s “House Crashers” to Feature Lennox Hearth Products Fireplace

Orange, CA — It’s the dream of every person who walks into a home improvement store with plans to take on a weekend fix-it-up project: Enter Josh Temple, contractor and host of DIY Network’s House Crashers, who stalks and ambushes his unsuspecting target and then follows them home with all the products, tools (and know-how) to complete the task.

Any trepidation the homeowner might have about taking on a project that’s guaranteed to consume more time than just the weekend are completely vanquished, and in a big way. The weekend warriors not only learn how to replace a light fixture or repair a leaky faucet — they are treated to a full crew from House Crashers, who remodel and transform entire living spaces in just a few days.

A recent episode set at a home in Sacramento, CA, is no exception. In a brief time, the homeowners’ outdated, bulky fireplace is completely remodeled into an art piece that connects an office and living room. The cabinetry behind it is busted out to create a pass-through and the new three-sided fireplace is wrapped in a granite mosaic. Cork floors are installed throughout and the living room is opened up to the back patio with mahogany glass doors that fold out to create an eight-foot opening.

The new fireplace, an Elite™ Series EDVPF gas-burning, direct-vent fireplace, was donated by Lennox Hearth Products. It offers a three-sided, peninsula configuration that serves as a primary focal point in the home and delivers a striking architectural statement. With an expansive glass viewing area on three sides and the intense flame presentation of a 39,000 BTU pan burner, the EDVPF creates a beautiful, natural-looking fire, featuring deluxe split oak logs and glowing embers that deliver an elegant fire presentation. Variable flame operation allows the homeowner to adjust the flame intensity and heat output to fit the mood or the occasion.

“What this crew did in relatively little time is nothing short of amazing. The old space was incredibly dated, while the new rooms have a clean, contemporary feel to them. That’s really what people are looking for in their homes,” said Robert Dischner, director of marketing for Lennox Hearth Products. “The beauty of a peninsula model is that it can be enjoyed from multiple rooms and opens up the space where it’s placed.”
