Perfect for settings where a traditional wood or gas-burning fireplace is impractical; the Merit Plus Series opens up a whole new world of design possibilities. Bedrooms, baths, kitchens, basements and glass-enclosed porches – all are potential locations for this "21st century hearth" from Lennox.
For ultimate design flexibility, the Merit Plus electric fireplace can be simply placed against the wall as a stand-alone unit, similar to a bookcase, when used with an optional mantel/surround. The unit can also be built-in like a wood- or gas-burning fireplace for a traditional appearance.
A split-oak charred log set and glowing ember bed bring convincing realism to this fireplace, while a handy remote-control lets users adjust flame height and glowing-ember intensity, or select from one of three heat settings, without getting out of their chair. Other standard features include a smoked-brick interior backdrop and operable mesh pull screen.
With its expansive 36-inch wide firebox opening, the Merit Plus electric more than measures up to traditional manufactured fireplaces. Plus, it comes with plenty of decorative options found on higher-end gas and wood fireplaces.
For example, optional mantels feature traditional architectural detailing in a white or natural oak finish, and the surrounding trim is available in three popular metal finishes: black, polished brass, or brushed stainless steel. Homeowners can also customize their hearth by selecting optional bi-fold style, bronze-tinted, glass enclosure panels. These panels are available with the same metal trim finishes mentioned above.
The Merit Plus Series Electric Fireplace from Lennox produces up to 5,000 BTUs when wired to an 110V outlet and can generate a total of 10,000 BTUs when plugged into a 220V outlet. Units also come factory-ready for installation of an optional wall-mounted on/off switch or wall thermostat.
