‘Settling In The City’ House Showcases Four Gas Fireplaces From Lennox Hearth Products

ORANGE, CA – Lennox Hearth Products (LHP) is pleased to participate in Home Magazine’s “Settling in the City” $2 million showcase house remodeling project, which was toured by attendees of the recent 2005 Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC).

The following products from LHP were installed in the house:

For more information on each product, see below.

Unique Serene Heat® Gas Log Sets

Serene Heat® gas log sets provide natural “wood-fire” realism and can be used with an existing chimney system. Made of ceramic fiber in a Red Heartwood style, the logs are sculpted with peeling, deep-textured bark that glows just like real wood.

With optional remote control on Millivolt ignition models, homeowners can easily enjoy a fire whenever the mood strikes – and turn it off – quickly and conveniently. Adjustable high/low temperature controls are standard, and there are no visible valves or burner parts.

Both 18-inch and 24-inch log set sizes are available. They can be used in either vented (using a working chimney for air supply) or vent-free (sealed chimney flue) applications. All Serene Heat log sets come standard with an oxygen depletion sensor (ODS) for added safety.

Elite® Series Direct Vent Gas Fireplace Insert (EDV125)

A convenient alternative to traditional wood-burning fireplaces, Elite Series Gas Fireplace Inserts can transform older masonry or manufactured fireplaces into more fashionable, energy efficient gas fireplaces.

Lennox Elite Gas Fireplace Inserts come standard with a split-oak ceramic log set and glowing ember bed, “thermal-activated” temperature control, variable flame speed controls and a heat output of up to 35,000 BTU’s per hour.

Options include a realistic brickaded interior, remote control, and twin-pane screen doors and louver kits in charcoal, gold-tone and brushed stainless finishes. The Elite is available in either direct-vent or B-vent models.

Elite® Series Direct Vent Gas Fireplace (EDV4540)

Using a dual-vent system – one pipe to add air and one to take combustion products away – the Elite Series of Direct Vent Gas fireplaces delivers outstanding performance on two issues important to homebuyers today: having an energy efficient and healthy home.

This large 45-inch diameter fireplace has flexible venting options so it can be placed almost anywhere in the home. It features the most decorative options of any Lennox gas fireplace, including customizable fireplace doors, face options and interior brick liner styles.

Wireless remote control and blower kits that improve heat distribution in larger rooms are optional. The EDV4540 has a heat output of 33,000 Btu’s per hour and an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) ratio of 65 percent.

Merit® Plus Direct Vent Gas Fireplaces (MPD4035)

With only slightly fewer decorating options, the Merit Plus Direct Vent Gas Fireplace offers benefits similar to the Lennox Elite Series. These include flexible, direct vent installation and an AFUE rating of 67 percent. Homeowners will also appreciate the fireplace’s expansive 40-inch fire view and a realistic “split-oak” gas log set.

Accessories include the popular Lennox Style™ View doors, along with two ceramic brickaded interior liner styles – black and Traditional. Other options include: decorative polished brass or stainless louvers and trim, a screen panel heat guard kit, remote control and a blower kit.

Like the Elite Series, the MPD4035 is fueled by natural gas or propane and may be configured with a standing pilot (for operation during a power failure) or electronic (intermittent) ignition. The unit produces up to 27,000 BTU’s per hour.
